mp3gain alternative [SOVED]

I'm setting up a Linux machine for the primary purpose of converting my music collection (CDs, cassette tapes, and LPs) to digital formats. I'm running Mint 19.1 and I've noticed that mp3gain and easymp3gain are no longer in the Mint/Ubuntu repositories. Can anyone suggest a good alternative? Thanks in advance.

You could always build mp3gain from source.

The projects source code appears to be hosted at sourceforge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mp3gain/

Download and extract the .zip file.
In the exrtacted directory, open a terminal and execute the following commands:

make
sudo make install

All dependenies needed for building should be included when installing the 'build-esentials' package.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid compiling form source but I'll give it a try. Had to install a couple of packages to get it to compile (libmpg123-dev and g++). Even then there were numerous compiler errors. However, I do see the object files and the mp3gain executable.

While researching the problem, I came across a repository at https://launchpad.net/~flexiondotorg/+ar...untu/audio

I added it and installed mp3gain from there then installed the easymp3gain package I downloaded from SourceForge.
