The first one will be possible. Mutter can be run stand-alone and KDE can be configured to
use a different WM instead of kwin. The second one is a bit trickier since GNOME is rather
integrated, but I have seen people using external WMs with GNOME, so it should be possible.

Maybe. Maybe not. I am just saying that Wayland isn't automatically better just because it is newer.
And its anti-modularity design is a huge drawback in my opinion.
Speaking about system-d: Yes it works and it is without doubt quite powerfull, but I prefer something
simple like voids 'runit', where a service can be simple shell script.
