802.1x ethernet wired password problems?
#1
I have always used wifi for the most part on my laptop but would like to use a cabled ethernet wired passworded  way from now.  But the linux wired connection just won't log in using the created password, or using the wifi password.  Is there a reason for linux mint to not let me sign in as it returns again and again to sign in? Is there a particular process for this in the manager?

Any help appreciated, thanks.
I just want to add a password rather than auto-connect when using ethernet cable, that as an extra locks the user console to outsiders without using the main sudo password. Some kind of extra security layer.

Thanks.
