HELP! Nordvpn
(08-09-2019, 01:27 PM)Pim Wrote: Hi all,
Is there somebody who is able to explain to me how to install Nordvpn??

This is my terminal output when i try to install Nordvpn.
How do i go from here????

~$ sudo apt-get install /home/nordvpn/Downloads/nordvpn-release_1.0.0_all.deb
Reading package lists... Done
E: Unsupported file /home/nordvpn/Downloads/nordvpn-release_1.0.0_all.deb given on commandline

What am i missing here?

Thanks in advance!

P.s.: the Nordvpn.deb file is in my downloads folder

That Apt command "apt-get install" are for repositories to the best of my knowledge. At least that is the way I use it. To install a ".deb" file, which is a compressed DEB program package, you will need a program installed named "gdebi"...

I would CD to the Download directory..
cd Downloads

and run gdebi from the command line like this...

gdebi ./nordvpn-release_1.0.0_all.deb

You "may" or "may not" need to use "sudo" in front of the command...

If you do not have gdebi installed, you can install it like this...

sudo apt install gdebi

Of course you can use the Software Center to install Gdebi if you like...

As with all things in Linux there are 10 ways to do something...Lol

I'm still new to Linux myself... Hope this helps...
